2019

Foundation

AASAP was founded in Accra, Ghana

A group of visionary student affairs professionals from across Africa came together to establish AASAP, recognizing the need for a continental professional association dedicated to advancing student affairs practice.

2020

First Conference

Virtual inaugural conference with 200+ participants

Despite pandemic challenges, AASAP successfully hosted its first continental conference virtually, bringing together student affairs professionals from 25 African countries to share knowledge and best practices.

2021

Certification Launch

Foundational Certificate in Student Affairs program

Launched the first continental certification program for student affairs professionals, providing standardized training and professional development opportunities across Africa.

2022

Research Initiative

African Student Affairs Research Journal launched

Established the premier research publication for student affairs in Africa, providing a platform for scholarly work and evidence-based practices.

2023

500+ Members

Reached milestone of 500 active members

Achieved significant growth milestone with over 500 members from 35 African countries, establishing AASAP as the leading professional association for student affairs in Africa.
